HC directs Bihar gov't to reply within 4 weeks of water logging

Patna, Oct 18 (UNI) Taking serious note of water logging in various localities of the state capital following incessant rainfall and subsequent outbreak of dengue, Patna High Court on Friday directed Bihar government to file an affidavit within four weeks providing details of steps it had taken to prevent them.
After hearing arguments on six petitions filed in this connection, a division bench of Patna High Court comprising Justice Shivaji Pandey and Justice Parth Sarthy directed the state government to submit its reply within four weeks.
The court also directed the government to submit names of officers associated with the cleaning work of sewage pipes and drains, trade names of pipes being used for the drainage purpose and names of contractors engaging in cleaning of drains, details of sump houses operating during water logging, steps taken in backdrop of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)`s forecast of heavy rainfall and also details of money spent on cleaning sewage pipes.
