Hauz Khas rape case: Safai wala of restaurant held, looted i-phone recovered

New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) A 19-year-old safai wala was arrested by Delhi police this morning from south-Delhi's Arjun Nagar area for raping a North-eastern women on pretext of giving her a lift and a i-phone and some cash was recovered from his possession.
In the intervening night of 18th and 19th February at around 0245 hrs, the girl reached at the police booth at Hauz Khas Village and reported that she was raped by an unknown youth inside Deer Park. She had gone with her friends to visit the place that evening.
"After filing of an FIR, 10 teams were deployed for combing of the area and to apprehend the wanted accused person. The footages of CCTV’s installed in Hauz Khas Village and other relevant places were scrutinised. The police teams worked round the clock and succeeded to establish the identity of the wanted accused. Finally the accused identified as General alias Raja was apprehended in morning from Jhuggi at Arjun Nagar, of the city," DCP (South District) Ishwar Singh told reporters here.
