Haryana to adopt multi-pronged strategy to curb and present drug abuse

Chandigarh, Jun 26 (UNI) Haryana government has decided to adopt a multi-pronged strategy to curb and prevent drug abuse.
While the state government has already started the process of constituting special teams for this purpose, it has also been decided to make police action against suppliers of drugs more effective and strict, besides creating awareness against drug abuse with the assistance of social organisations and volunteers.
Speaking at a function on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Ambala today, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Kumar said that while Punjab had been affected by the evil of drug abuse, the situation in Haryana was still largely under control. He urged the youth to stay away drugs and motivate others to also stay away from drugs.
