Haryana polls: ECI writes to Kharge, refutes EVM tampering charge

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (EC) on Wednesday wrote a strongly-worded letter to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge refuting the party’s allegations on suspected EVM tampering in Haryana Assembly elections in which the party lost to the BJP.

The Commission in a letter said the Congress comments are "far from a legitimate part of free speech and expression".

Riyadh/New Delhi, July 15 (UNI) Augustin Dassayan, an Indian national working as security guard onboard the merchant vessel ‘Eternity C’ which sank on July 9 in the Red Sea following a hostile attack by the Houthis, has reached Jizan, Saudi Arabia, after he along with some other crew members were rescued. India thanked Saudi Arabia for its support and assistance in the matter.
