Chandigarh, Jun 15 (UNI) In the past week alone, Haryana Police have seized 1198 kg narcotic substances, including ganja, heroin, poppy husk, opium among others, and arrested 59 accused for drug related crimes between June 8 and 14.
Stating this here on Monday, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk informed that police teams have been working relentlessly to curb drug menace in the society. "It is because of our team's efforts that we have thwarted all attempts of drug peddlers to push large consignment of drugs in the state," he said.
The continuous crackdown on drug peddlers is in line with the government’s commitment to make Haryana a completely drug-free state. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Home Minister Anil Vij are committed to the cause and regularly monitor the situation to ensure a sustained fight against drug menace in the state, he added.
