Haryana Police seizes 187 gm heroin, 1.7 kg Marijuana

Chandigarh, Jan 24 (UNI) Haryana Police in separate cases have arrested nine persons on the charges of drug-peddling and seized 187.50 gram of heroin, 1.2 kg poppy straw, 1.7 kg Marijuana and 150 restricted pharma pills from their possession in Sirsa district.
Giving this information here today, a spokesman of Haryana Police said that a team of CIA while patrolling and checking near village Khuiyan Malkana area in the district, signaled a car to stop. Instead of stopping, the driver and his aide tried to speed off but were nabbed at a short distance. When searched, 170 gram heroin recovered from them identified as Surajbhan alias Monu and Pawan, both resident of Chautala.

In the second incident, Anti Narcotic Cell team nabbed two persons identified as Satish and Sunil for possessing 8 gram of heroin.
In another case, CIA team had arrested two youth after it recovered 7 gram of heroin from them. Similarly, Nathusari Chopta Thana police team had arrested a youth identified as Mahabir of district Churu (Rajasthan) on the charges of possessing 2.5 gram heroin.
Odhan Thana police had nabbed Jaskaran Singh, a resident of Chormor Khera after it recovered 150 restricted pharma pills from him.
Under the anti-narcotic drive, police has also seized 1.2 kg poppy straw from a youth identified as Sandeep, a resident of Sikandarpur, Sirsa.
In a separate development, anti narcotic cell of Kaithal Police had seized 1.7 kg marijuana from the possession of two alleged drug-peddlers identified as Jagmal and Satish.
Cases under the provisions of NDPS Act were registered against them in different Police Stations. Further investigation is underway.

Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Wednesday urged the Police and Health Department to provide improved services to commoners through utilising new technology.
“Every sphere has witnessed change – including in style of functioning. Public aspirations have also increased. Law enforcement and the Health Department are directly connected to the masses. Therefore, it is necessary that the behaviour and functioning of officials be improved so that the people obtain relief and repose greater faith in the system. Those in khaki should make better use of technology in investigation,” he was officially quoted as saying in the state capital’s Govindpura while dedicating 1,813 quarters for police personnel.

MP Govt inks health deal with Tata

Bhopal, Feb 26 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government inked a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday with Tata Trusts vis-a-vis the latter’s extending technical-cum-managerial support for 115 identified health and wellness centres to be set up in four years within 23 high-priority districts, it was officially learnt.
The Trusts will extend cooperation for 500 more such facilities at a later stage. The agreement was signed at Mantralaya – in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Health Minister Tulsiram Silawat – by Chief Secretary SR Mohanty and Tata Trusts Vice President Vijay Singh.

SAD demands sacking of Health minister Balbir Sidhu for buprenorphine tablet scam
