Haryana Police cracks gangster Ankur escape case; 2 held

Phagwara, Feb 9 (UNI) Local police today cracked a case in which four unidentified youths fired at a police team and got freed Amritsar based gangster Ankur from police custody near Nawanshahar on February 4 evening.
Addressing a press conference at DSP office here, Kapurthala Senior Superintendent of Police Rajinder Singh disclosed that the police nabbed two gangsters, identified as Prabhjot Singh of Jalalabad and Germanjit Singh of Goindwal (District Tarn Taran), from near Gonspur turn in Phagwara and recovered two pistols and ten live cartridges from them.
The SSP said that the nabbed accused confessed their involvement in Nawanshahar crime and disclosed that a conspiracy was hatched by them along with another gangster Money Ballarr to got free gangster Ankur when he had to be produced before a Nawanshahar court. They first conducted recce and then got free Ankur from police custody. The weapons used by them in the incident were buried at a deserted place near here. And when they were taking the weapons back they were nabbed by the police.
