Haryana: Minister pulls up HSIIDC over lack of fire safety at Saha industrial hub after devastating blaze

Pamchkuila, June 13 (UNI) Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij today took serious exception to the absence of a dedicated fire-fighting facility at the Saha Industrial Growth Centre in Ambala district following a major fire that gutted a glassware manufacturing unit, and directed authorities to immediately station a fire tender in the industrial area.
Inspecting the fire-ravaged factory a day after the incident, Vij expressed concern over the lack of emergency response infrastructure in an industrial estate housing nearly 300 units and employing thousands of workers.
During the visit, officials informed the minister that no fire brigade vehicle was stationed within the industrial complex. Taking strong note of the lapse, Vij directed the Managing Director of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) to ensure that a fire tender is deployed at the industrial centre without any delay.
