Haryana IPS officer’s death sparks political, administrative turmoil; Punjab CM visits bereaved family

Chandigarh, Oct 11 (UNI) The controversy surrounding the death of senior Haryana IPS officer V. Poonam Kumar continues to intensify, with questions being raised over the post-mortem procedure and administrative decisions.
A team of doctors, forensic experts, and videographers reached Chandigarh’s PGI mortuary today to conduct the autopsy, but family members did not appear. SSP Kanwardeep Kaur stated that the post-mortem would proceed only after the family’s consent.
In a major administrative move, Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia has been removed from his post and replaced by IPS officer Surender Singh Bhauria. Sources indicate that the state government is considering sending DGP Shatrujit Kapoor on leave amid growing pressure.
