Haryana govt decides to open training & skill development centres for persons with disability: Khattar

Chandigarh De 2 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the State Government has decided to open training and skill development centres for persons with disability in each district of the State so as to bring them into the mainstream. Apart from this, the new buildings would be made more conducive to the physically challenged for their convenience.
Mr Khattar was speaking in the Social Empowerment Camp and free distribution of aids and appliances function organized by Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Social Justice and Empowerment Department Haryana under the ages of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Kanpur in Kurukshetra today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed aids and appliances to about 3100 Divyangs worth of Rs 2.12 crore.
The Chief Minister said that disability is not a curse instead they could lead a good life with sheer determination and talent. He said that in the Paralympics games held recently, five physically challenged have brought laurels to the country by winning medals. The brave daughter of Haryana Mrs Deepa Malik has given a befitting reply to disability by winning silver medal in these games. The Government too recognized her achievement and honoured her with a cash prize of Rs four crore, he added. He urged the physically challenged to contribute in the development of the society. He said that social organization should also come forward for their help.
