Haryana CM approves proposal for adoption of Anganwadis by individuals, organisations

Chandigarh, Jan 12 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved the proposal for adoption of Anganwadis by individuals or organisations anywhere in the State under ‘Hamari Phulwari’ scheme of Women and Child Development Department.
While stating this here today, Women and Child Development Minister Kavita Jain said Anganwadis could be adopted by those individuals or organisations that were engaged in social welfare activities and promotion of education of children so as to expand the facilities by constructing buildings, provide technical support or help in skill development.
She said there were more than 25,000 Anganwadi Centres in the state. She said those adopting Anganwadis would have to spend more than Rs one lakh to improve any Anganwadi centre. The names of such individuals or organisations would be inscribed in the Anganwadi.
