Bengaluru, Dec 8 (UNI) Haryana dominated the women’s competition at the Senior National Wrestling Championships 2024, amassing a commanding 235 points to top the standings after securing seven of the eight gold medals on the final day of the event on Sunday.
Maharashtra followed with 150 points, while Delhi finished third with 106 points. Haryana’s standout performances came from Jyoti (53kg), Meenakshi (55kg), and Radhika (68kg), who triumphed over strong opponents like Kavita M (Rajasthan) and Srishti (Delhi), delivering dominant displays to claim the gold.
Other golds for Haryana came from Tapasya (57kg), Anjali (59kg), Manisha (65kg), Priyanka (72kg), and Priya (76kg), contributing to an overwhelming haul of victories. In the 50kg final, Shivani Pawar from Madhya Pradesh triumphed over Haryana’s Vinita with a 12-4 score.
