Harish Muthu makes historic quarterfinals at Asian Surfing Championships

Male, Aug 23 (UNI) In a landmark achievement for Indian surfing, Harish Muthu reached the quarterfinals of the 2024 Asian Surfing Championships in the men’s open category, becoming the first Indian to advance to this stage in the event’s history.
The championships, held at Thulusdhoo in Maldives, are a qualifying event for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
Despite this historic accomplishment, Muthu narrowly missed out on a semifinal berth, finishing third in his quarterfinal heat.
