Hardik in Rajasthan might upset BJP's calculations

Hardik in Rajasthan might upset BJP's calculations

By Anish Singh

Udaipur, Dec 2 (UNI) Hardik Patel, convenor of Kisan Kranti Sena, seems to have become a trouble maker for ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the state, as the young leader from Gujarat is targeting farmers and youths, to fan anti-BJP sentiments.

Hardik, Pattidar community reservation crusader, also seems to be playing the reservation card well, as he is also touching the emotional chord of Gujjar community, who too are demanding reservation in higher education and government jobs from Rajasthan government.

While talking to UNI, Mr Patel claimed, "The BJP, which came to power in 2013, has till yet not provided jobs to youths."

Mr Patel said Ms Raje in tweet had said that her government had given jobs to 45 lakh people in past five years, contradicting her public gathering assertion of jobs to15 lakh people. "This shows she is lying. No jobs were given to youths," he alleged.

“The government jobs were not created due to wrong policies. There are 4-5 lakh vacancies in government departments vacant but they are not filling them,' Mr Patel claimed.

"We are urging people to not vote against the BJP since they have not fulfilled their electoral promise,' he said.
“In my opinion, after every five years, there should be change. In such case, the chances of corruption are less,' he claimed, hinting that the young leader is asking vote for Congress.

The Gujarat leader is also raking up the issue of vacant vacancies in teaching profession and farmers distress.
The 25-year-old leader, has visited scores of villages in Rajasthan, urging the villagers not to vote for BJP in coming assembly polls.

Mr Patel, had visited Sawai Madhopur, Salumbur, Udaipur, Kota. He is visiting to Jhalrapatan on Sunday.

The Congress has fielded former foreign, finance and defence minister Jaswant Singh’s son Manvendra Singh against Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

The battle between the two will take place in Jhalrapatan, the home turf of Ms Raje, having sizeable population of Rajputs. However, the things might not be "so easy" for Ms Raje as her constituency Jhalrapatan is also having around 22,000 Patidar community voters.

The state goes to polling on December 7 and the results to be declared on December 11.
