Hardeep Puri to inaugurate PAFI’s 4th national public affairs forum

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri will inaugurate the fourth national -- The 2017 India Public Affairs Forum -- of the Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) with the theme of “Public Affairs: Effective Advocacy & Public Policy Strategies”, on September 14 and 15 in New Delhi.
PAFI, since inception, has been advocating content-driven ethical public affairs practice in India. This can be achieved through a process of regular consultation between the government and industry. The forum envisages to provide an engagement platform on practices that will aid industry in becoming an important partner of the government in the process of policy formulation.

This will be Mr Puri’s first major address as a Minister and he will be sharing his vision on housing and urban development. His insights will benefit participants in finding answers to ‘How can public affairs professionals help remove gaps in information flow between the government and industry on key policy issues?’ and ‘What in the government’s view is the most effective form of advocacy acceptable to all?’

Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, MP and BJP national vice-president, will address the 2017 India Public Affairs Forum at the inaugural dinner on September 14. He will be addressing some of the key issues like ‘What are the top of the mind issues currently from a political perspective? ‘How does BJP look at its last three years of NDA Government? and ‘What are its priorities for next two years and beyond, both on domestic & international front?’

Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, will be the chief guest at the closing session of the forum where he is likely to speak on issues such as ‘How to have effective Advocacy plan with Government’ and the approach of NITI Aayog on stakeholder engagements.

There will be six sessions in this year’s forum, focusing on issues like Effective Advocacy with Bureaucracy, CEO’s engagement with Advocacy & Public Affairs, Advocacy & Media: Is lobbying a bad word?, Public Affairs engagement with Legislators and How to have effective Advocacy plan with Government. The sessions will be with a panel comprising of personalities from Legislature, Bureaucracy, Industry and Media.
