Hardcore ultra carrying Rs 1 lakh reward arrested by Giridih police

Giridih, Dec 4 (UNI) In a joint operation of the district police and CRPF personnel, a hardcore ultra of the CPI (Maoists), carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was arrested along with arms and ammunition.
Addressing a press conference here today, Giridih SP Surendra Kumar Jha said that the arrested ultra has been identified as Jageshwar Turi, who was part of the Maoist squad led by Nunuchand. He said that various cases are registered against Turi at Topchanchi, Pirtand and other police station areas of this district.
He said that Turi was currently working to recruit the youth from the rural areas into the Maoist ranks. The SP said that police had received a secret tip off regarding the movement of the squad led by Nunuchand in the Pirtand area, after which a CRPF and the district police team conducted raids and arrested the ultra.
