Hard-fought wins for Shreya and Catherine

Chandigarh, Apr 30 (UNI) CLTA trainee Rahat Mangat of Punjab upset top seed Amreen Sidhu (Chandigarh) in a straight set 6-2, 6-2 in the girls final qualifying round in the Ethica Limited CLTA-AITA National Series (NS) Tennis Tournament for Boys and Girls under-16 at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.
Rahat Mangat won the first set 6-2 easily, in the second set Rahat Mangat played attacking game, Rahat use her big forehand to close the second set an match easlity 6-2. Another CLTA Trainee Nimrat Kaur Atwal also won from Lakshmi Gowda by considing only one game in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
Shreya Chakraborty of West Bengal and Catherine Bhangu (Chandigarh) overcame stiff resistance from their respective opponents in the final qualifying rounds. Shreya Chakraborty rallied to beat Ananya Dhankar (Delhi) 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 and Catherine Bhangu toiled to beat Hansika Mor (Haryana) 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-2.
