New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif, who replaced Priyanka Chopra as the female lead of the Salman Khan starrer ‘Bharat’, says that she is happy to be a part of the film and that she is excited about her character in it.
‘’ I thought it was an absolutely wonderful script. After reading it I felt extremely excited about the character which I am playing in the film. I am very happy to be part of the film,” Katrina said on the sidelines of the Vogue Beauty Awards 2018.
Katrina said that the script of the film was the main criteria for her taking it up.
‘’The roles which I have chosen for myself are purely based on script and what my character is in that film,’’she said.
Katrina, whose entry as the female lead of the film will unite her with the team of Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman Khan after ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, said she was excited to be part of the team again.
‘’For me, it is extremely exciting to be working with the team again,’’ she said.
About the director Ali Abbas Zafar, she said,’’ Ali Abbas Zafar is very dear friend of mine. We have worked with each other earlier in ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan‘ and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai‘ and both films were extremely successful. More importantly, I had a great experience working on those two films.”
Katrina replaces Priyanka Chopra as the female lead of the film.
In Bharat, Katrina will play the love interest of Salman. She will be joining the shoot in the upcoming schedule beginning in September.
Bharat also stars Tabu, Sunil Grover and Nora Fatehi in key roles.
A remake of the 2014 South Korean film ‘Ode to My Father’, ‘Bharat’ is being produced by Atul Agnihotri’s Reel Life Productions and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
It will release on Eid 2019.
