Hanuman issue: Diggy wants BJP to say sorry

Indore, MP, Dec 23 (UNI) Reacting to Bharatiya Janata Party leaders’ statements linking Lord Hanuman with caste, Madhya Pradesh’s former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh on Saturday averred that the BJP should tender an apology for such words.
“Lord Hanuman is an avatar of Lord Shiva. It is objectionable to associate the deity with caste. The All India Akhada Parishad must scorn the BJP, the Vishva Hindu Parishad and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Those who made the remarks should be shown the door by their respective political parties and organisations,” the Rajya Sabha Member said during an interaction with journalists here.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Lord Hanuman as a dalit, Mr Singh said, adding that BJP leader Bukkal Nawab claimed that the God was a Muslim and that state’s Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary stressed that Lord Hanuman was a Jat.
