Hans Zimmer to compose original score for HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’ series

Los Angeles, Jan 16 (UNI) Grammy-winning composer Hans Zimmer will create the original score for HBO’s highly anticipated Harry Potter TV series.
According to Variety, Zimmer, along with his music company Bleeding Fingers Music, will be responsible for the composition, with the series set to premiere in 2027.
HBO shared the news on Instagram, quoting Albus Dumbledore: “Ah, music. A magic beyond all we do here!” and adding, “We’re honoured to announce that Hans Zimmer and Bleeding Fingers will compose a new score for HBO’s Harry Potter series. Coming soon to HBO Max.”
Bleeding Fingers, founded by Zimmer along with Russell Emanuel and Steven Kofsky, is known for creating original scores for films, TV, and other creative projects. For the Harry Potter series, composers Karan Talve and Anze Rozman will join Zimmer, aiming to immerse audiences in the magical world of wizardry.
“The musical legacy of Harry Potter is a touchpoint for composers everywhere, and we are humbled to join such a remarkable team on a project of this magnitude,” the trio said in a statement.
“Responsibility is something we do not take lightly. Magic is all around us, often just beyond reach, but as in the world of Harry Potter, you simply must look for it. With this score, we hope to bring audiences a little closer to it while honouring what has come before,” as quoted by Variety.
Zimmer is renowned for his work on iconic films such as Inception, The Lion King, Dune, Black Hawk Down, and Gladiator. He has earned multiple awards, including Oscars for Dune and The Lion King.
The ‘Harry Potter TV series’, currently in production, has also revealed its main cast. Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will portray Harry, Hermione, and Ron, respectively, with John Lithgow, Nick Frost, Paapa Essiedu, and Janet McTear in key roles. The series is slated to premiere in 2027.
