Hans Foundation  helps needy with Rs 16.5 cr during Covid-19

New Delhi, Jul 10 (UNI) The Hans Foundation, one of India’s largest public charitable trust has stepped up its efforts in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic and has contributed more than Rs 16.5 crore to help and empower people in distress affected by Covid-19.

According to The Hans Foundation's Founder & Chairperson Shweta Rawat, in the last three months, the Foundation has contributed more than 16.5 crore rupees to help and empower people in distress affected by COVID-19.

The Foundation has donated Rs four crore in PM Corona Cares Fund and Rs 1.51 crore in the Uttarakhand Chief Minister's fund during the pandemic.

The Chairperson while talking about the COVID-19 relief drive of the Foundation shared that 'In collaboration with our partners, we have benefitted more than three lakh families by providing nutritional kits or ration kits to the families of migrants, daily wage earners, informal sector workers'.

Also, the foundation helped several state and government hospitals by providing lifesaving ventilators, setting up isolation centres, distributing healthcare kits were for the frontline health workers and partial salaries as well.

The Foundation also presented PPE kits, sanitizers and gloves to Minister of State for Home Minister Kishan Reddy and Delhi police commissioner.

Ms Rawat added that additionally, the Foundation has assisted in setting up quarantine centres with a capacity of 10,000 for migrant workers in Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat District Administration in Uttarakhand. A total of 6,000 beds, electric fans, iron folding beds and fishing have been provided in these centres.

Such quarantine centres were also established in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. Explaining about the Foundations contribution in Kerala, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra the Chairperson said, 'We have supplied about Rs 1.90 crore worth of fully equipped beds, ventilators, PPE kits, medicines, gloves and food items in these states and are also extending all possible support for COVID-19 patients.'

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivender Singh Rawat has lauded the contribution of The Hans Foundation and has thanked them for their remarkable and timely support to help people in distress during the pandemic.

The Foundation has been working for the last 10 years in the areas of Education, Health, Disability, Women Empowerment, Drinking water and Sanitation.

Renowned spiritual leader Bhole Ji Maharaj and Mata ManglaJi have been the guiding force behind The Hans Foundation’s Covid-19 relief work during the pandemic. The relief drive has especially targeted the underprivileged communities impacted with the pandemic and lockdown.

Since March, lakhs of people have been extended help and support in terms of food supplies, medicines, ventilators, hospital beds and other forms of support in 17 states across the country through the foundation, according to a statement here on Friday.
