Hamro Sikkim Party rejects BJP's proposal for alliance

Gangtok,Nov 25 (UNI) Hamro Sikkim Party has turned down BJP state unit’s proposal for electoral alliance.

The alliance has been rejected as Bhaichung’s party wants BJP to break its alliance with Sikkim Democratic Front Party. Mr Bhutia has said that no political alliance was possible with BJP till the BJP and SDF alliance (NDA and NEDA) continued.

"Our party is working in the interest of Sikkimese people. Therefore, we will not enter into any such alliance. Hamro Sikkim Party was founded for opposing the ruling SDF. It is very difficult to form an alliance with BJP, which has SDF as an ally,"Vice-President of Hamro Sikkim Party, Bhaichung Bhutia said yesterday

Mr Bhutia said the meeting went well, but BJP had to clarify the proposed seat sharing in the state with SDF.

Hamro Sikkim Party and State unit of Bhartiya Janta Party met at the latter's office to discuss electoral alliance. The meeting was held at the instance of BJP state unit.
