Hamirpur Cong may invite Rahul Gandhi to contest from Hamirpur LS seat

Shimla/Hamirpur (HP), Jan 23(UNI) With Priyanka Gandhi joining the active politics and Rahul Gandhi to work for the revival of the Congress party all over India, a major section of the Congress party in the district is actively favouring to invite Rahul Gandhi to contest next Lok Sabha election from Hamirpur seat.
The BJP has been winning this seat continuously since 1998, and as such this section of the party feels that if the All India party chief agrees, the party will be able not only to win the seat but also win all the four Lok sabha seats of the state that it had lost in 2014 elections. Besides, it will also help the party to get more seats in Northern India states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttrakhand and Chandigarh.
Moreover, it may also give a crushing blow to the sitting BJP MP, Anurag Thakur who is strongly opposed to Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party and if Rahul Gandhi agrees to this proposal, the Congress party will be able to overturn the applecart of the BJP in its own stronghold of Hamirpur.
