Half of 8,000 missing children in Assam in 5 years untraced

Guwahati, Oct 1 (UNI) More than 8,400 children were reported missing from Assam in the last five years, while nearly half of them remained untraced so far.
Altogether 8,443 children were reported missing from the state from 2013 to 2017, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary informed the state Legislative Assembly here today.
He was replying, on behalf of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who holds the Home portfolio, to a question on child trafficking, raised by BJP legislator Dr Numal Momin.
