HAL Kanpur, Korwa get Raksha Mantri's award

Lucknow, Jan 28 (UNI) Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) Kanpur and Korwa( Amethi) units of Uttar Pradesh have been conferred with Raksha Mantri’s Awards for Innovation and Indigenisation.
The award for excellence in the innovation category for the year 2012-13 was jointly presented to Transport Aircraft Division, HAL , Kanpur for Electro Plasticity Assisted Incremental Foaming (EPAIF), a process envisaged to deform high strength and difficult to deform aerospace alloys and Avionics Division of HAL, Korwa in Amethi district for Deployable Flight Data Recorder System.
This is a new generation “ Fly Off and Survive Black Box ” designed with primary objectives to achieve a world class complementary design technology to current fixed recorders for improved
