Guv visits shrines, other places in downtown Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 20 (UNI) Governor N N Vohra on Monday visited the historic downtown Srinagar and reviewed the implementation of development works and also took stock of preparation for Eid al-Azha, particularly at different shrines and Mosques, where major congregations are expected.
This is for the first time during his tenure of 10 years as Governor of the state, that Mr Vohra visited Srinagar’s downtown, which is considered one of the most sensitive areas in the valley.
An official spokesperson said that on Monday evening, the Governor undertook an extensive tour of downtown Srinagar and visited various places, including Hazratbal, Jamia Masjid, Naqashband Sahib and Dastgeer Sahib.
