Guv gives assent to Greenfield Varsity(Amendment) Bill

Kolkata, Nov 13 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has given his consent to the Greenfield University (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
A Raj Bhawan release issued today said the amendment seeks to effect change in the name of the Greenfield University to Darjeeling Hills University. The Greenfield University was constituted by the Greenfield University Act, 2018 in the district of Darjeeling.
This change has been effected keeping in view the persistent demand from the local people that the name of the University be changed to Darjeeling Hills University.
Considering the feasibility of the demand of the local people, the State Government has decided to rename the Greenfield University to the Darjeeling Hills University.

taking the tally to 24,823, and the toll jacking up to 827, the State Government has decided
