Guv expresses concern over excessive use of chemical fertilizers in farming

Ranchi, Nov 20 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Murmu today expressed her concern over the excessive use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture and said that it was challenge as to how people can remain away from their use and maintain the fertility of the land and ensure adequate production.
Addressing a programme organised by the Brahma Kumaris here she said that India is a land based on agriculture where in the early days chemical laden fertilizers were not used however with the rising population new methods of production was adopted in which chemical fertilizers and insecticides started to be used which ultimately impacted the fertility of the soil.
The Governor said that the work being done by the scientist and organizations like Brahma Kumaris would help to create awareness in this regard especially among the farmers and their condition would also improve.
