Guv and CM call for upholding Constitution

Kolkata, Jan 26 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday stressed on the need for settling all issues as per Constitution, while Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called for taking a pledge to protect Constitution.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day, Mr Dhankhar talking to his Twitter handle said, " All issues need to be settled as per our Constitution. "

" Coordination and not confrontation is the way out, " observed Mr Dhankhar.

Congratulating those for being conferred ‘Padma Shri’ from the State, Mr Dhankhar said, " Congratulations for conferment of ‘Padma Shri’ from our State WB for distinguished service in various fields to Kazi Masum Akhtar Literature and Education, Dr Sushovan Banerjee Medicine, Dr Arunoday Mondal Medicine, Manilal Nag Art. "

" Congratulations to Ajoy Chakravorty from West Bengal for conferment of Padma Bhushan’ for distinguished service of high order in the field of Art, " the Governor stated.

Ms Banerjee taking to her Twitter handle said, " On #RepublicDay, let us pledge to protect our #Constitution and uphold the principles of the sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic, republic, justice, liberty, equality and fraternity, as enshrined in the Preamble. "
