Guru Purab:2500 sanitation employees working 24/7 for cleanliness on streets of Sultanpur Lodhi

Sultanpur Lodhi, Nov 12 (UNI) Despite heavy influx of devotees in Sultanpur Lodhi, the level of cleanliness on the streets and roads of the holy city is being compared with that of Kumbh Mela of Allahabad city.
Stating this here on Tuesday, Mr Barjinder Singh, Regional Deputy Director, Local Bodies department, said Punjab government is receiving huge appreciation for maintaining cleanliness in holy city of Sultanpur Lodhi despite huge rush of pilgrims. He said 73 langars are being organised and responsibility of cleanliness in all the langars has been taken up by the Local Government department.
The comprehensive plan to maintain cleanliness was chalked out by four member committee led by Local Bodies Minister Brahm Mohindra, Principal Secretary A Venu Prasad, PMIDC CEO Ajoy Sharma and Director, Local Government Karnesh Sharma.

Authorities crack whip on traffic violators in Gulmarg

Srinagar, Apr 18 (UNI) Authorities cracked a whip against traffic violators at the tourist resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir on Thursday.
A joint team of officers lead by Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Waseem Raja and accompanied by Tehsildar Gulmarg, officers of Motor Vehicle department ,Traffic Department, Police and municipality today launched enforcement drive in Gulmarg to curb the problems of traffic Jam, wrong parking and to ensure hassle free flow of traffic for convenience of tourists
“The enforcement drive was carried out to encourage active engagement from the community, including pedestrians, and public transport users in promoting a culture of responsibility and adherence to traffic laws,” officials said.
