Gurpratap Wadala appointed Secretary General of SAD

Jalandhar, Jul 11 (UNI) Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and Nakodar MLA Gurpratap Singh Wadala has been appointed Secretary General of the party.
An announcement to this effect was made by SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday.
Wadala (57) was elected for the second time consecutively to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in 2017 and he defeated his nearest rival Sarwan Singh Hayer of the Aam Aadmi Party with a margin of 18,407 votes, whereas earlier in 2012 state assembly elections, he defeated Congress heavy weight and former cabinet minister Amarjit Singh Samra.
