Gunmen shot dead a man in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 11 (UNI) Unidentified gunmen shot dead a man from frontier district of Kupwara in Khanyar area of the city on Monday night, official sources said here this morning.
They said gunmen fired upon a person when he was driving a car at Khanyar in the down town city last night.
The injured was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.
Security forces and state police immediately reached the spot but the gunmen managed to escape under the cover of darkness, they said adding the deceased was later identified as Abdul Ahad, son of Ghulam Ahmad, a resident of village Tewan Mohalla, Lalpora Lolab in Kupwara.
Police has registered a case and started investigation. This was the third killing by unidentified gunmen in the Kashmir valley during the past one week.
An activist of hardline Hurriyat Conference (HC) was shot dead by gunmen in Sopore while a militant was killed in Hazratbal area of the city.
