Gujarat win by 38 runs against Bengal in Vijay Hazare opening match in Jaipur

Kolkata, Sep 24 (UNI) Gujarat won by 38 runs against Bengal and bagged all 4 points
in the Vijay Hazare's opening play in the Elite Group C at Jaipuria Vidhyalaya ground
in Jaipur today.
Sent to bat first Gujarat scored 253 for loss of 8 wickets in allotted 50 over and then
bowled out Bengal 215 in 46.2 overs, thanks to Ramesh Kalaria's 4/34 and Chintan
Gaja 2/44.
Bengal's Shreeevats Goswami's valiant 79 in 112 ball went in vain and defeat meant
the loser took to the bottom of the table after first round play.
Anustup Mazumder made 39 and Wriddhiman Saha 26
For the winners Bhargav Merai scored highest 63 runs, followed by Manpreet Juneja
47, Khatan Patel 36, Axar Patel 33 and bowler Piyush Chawla 26 enabled Gujarat to
score a winnable score.
