Gujarat invites people from Karnataka for inauguration of Sardar Vallabhai Patel's statue on Oct 31

Bengaluru, Oct 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil the statue of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhai Patel on October 31, Gujarat Minister for Energy Sourab Patel said on Tuesday that all from Karnataka were welcome to the major event.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that the 182 meter height statue, the world's biggest, has been built near Sardar Sarovar Reservoir in the midst of Narmada River and named as 'Ekata Smarak'. It took 42 weeks to complete building of the statue. Materials including mud and iron were collected from farmers across the country.
He said that about Rs 2332 Crore was spent for building the Statue by using 70,000 metric ton of cement, 18,500 metric ton of iron, 6000 metric ton structural steel, 1700 metric ton of Copper used.
