Gujarat CM condoles Jaitely's demise: To attend cremation

Gandhinagar, Aug 24 (UNI) Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani expressed deep condolences over the demise of former Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who passed away on Saturday noon.

Mr Rupani said that he would go to Delhi on Sunday to attend the cremation at Nigam Bodh Ghat.

In his condolence message, Mr Rupani said, "Various decisions taken by Jaitley in the field of economic reforms and financial discipline would always be remembered," added that the BJP has also lost a dedicated leader.

The CM would go to New Delhi tomorrow and visit the BJP national headquarters to pay final tributes to the Jaitley.

Jaitley was admitted to the hospital on August 9 following breathing trouble and weakness. His condition deteriorated after being stable for a couple of days.

Suffering from lung infection, response from vitals weakened and on Saturday he went into a massive cardiac arrest.

"It is with profound grief that we inform the sad demise of Shri Arun Jaitley, Hon'ble member of Parliament and former finance minister at 1207 hrs on 24th August, 2019," according to a statement from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
