GST announces tax relief for FIFA under-17 Women's WC 2020

Panaji, Sep 20 (UNI) Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday announced that the 37th Goods and Services Council had decided to exempt services related to the upcoming FIFA under-17 Women's World Cup from tax bracket.

Addressing a press conference in the city, she said, "To exempt services related to FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup 2020, similar to existing exemption given to FIFA under-17 World Cup 2017.

The Women's under-17 FIFA World Cup is to be held in Odisha in November next year.

Quoting decisions taken in the GST Council, Ms Sitharaman also announced that the Council had allowed "registered authors" an option to pay GST on royalty charged from publishers under forward charge and observe regular GST compliance.
