GSI finds ore, gold in MP

Bhopal, Feb 22 (UNI) Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar averred on Friday that the Geological Survey of India’s Madhya Pradesh unit has discovered evidence of abundant reserves in three districts and that would translate into possible royalty of Rs 5,240 crore.
“As much as 42.71 million tonnes of iron ore are believed to be present in Tikamgarh District’s Prithvipur Tehsil, 2.74 mln tonnes zinc and an equivalent quantity of graphite in Betul besides gold in Singrauli. Work is underway for tapping these resources,” Mr Tomar – who represents Gwalior in Parliament – said in a statement.
