New Delhi, Mar 28 (UNI) In line with the government’s vision to improve air quality in Delhi NCR, online supermarket Grofers has recently commenced delivery operations via e-rickshaws in Delhi.
“The introduction of this environment friendly electric fleet will help Grofers, the largest online grocer in North India, to reduce cost of delivery by 25 pc and cater to the growing influx of orders. In the initial phase, customers in South Delhi’s Okhla and Lado Sarai will receive their groceries via e-vehicles. Through this initiative, Grofers aims to transform the doorstep delivery ecosystem as well as contribute to building a better environment," said Co-Founder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa.
'E-rickshaws are ideal for last-mile connectivity. We believe that this cost effective & environment friendly initiative will usher in a new concept in grocery delivery. The company aims to upsize the fleet delivery, hitting a count of 50 e-rickshaws on Delhi NCR roads in the next 3-4 months,' the CEO said.
