Lucknow, Aug 3 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has observed that a grandson should also be considered as dependent of the deceased. In its ruling yesterday, Lucknow bench of the court said,'We form rules and regulations to facilitate people. The Court has instructed officers concerned to reconsider allotment of government shop of ration to grandson of the deceased.' Justice Rituraj Awasthi passed this order on petition of one Ahok Kumar. Grandfather of the petitioner had government's ration shop. His father had died earlier and his grandfather passed away on March 12, 2014. He applied for allotment of shop on his name but the officer concerned denied saying that it cannot be done as applicant is grandson of deceased, and as per norms, only wife, son and unmarried girl can be considered as dependent of the deceased. The court ordered that petitioner was fully-dependent on the deceased, hence he should be given the benefit. UNI XC-JDM MB SV ADG 1200
