GPL provides scholarships to selected students under CSR program

GPL provides scholarships to selected students under CSR program

Visakhapatnam, Aug 19 (UNI) As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Gangavaram Port Limited (GPL) provided scholarships to selected students and distributed stationary at a meeting held here on Monday.

The meeting was attended by Gajuwaka Constituency MLA Tippala Nagi Reddy, GPL CEO, Sambasiva Rao, COO, V. Janardhan Rao and port staff.

GPL staff distributed stationary items like School Bags, Books and Compass Boxes to nearly 550 students of Z P High School and MPP Elementary School ( Pallepalam).

GPL also awarded scholarships to the meritorious 10th class (2018-19) students from Gangavaram High School of Peddagantyada Mandal.

The students, who got the scholarship were Ms. Jaya (1st prize Rs. 10,000), Ms. Pramila ( 2nd prize of Rs. 5000) and Ms. M. Manjusha (3rd prize of Rs. 5000).

This initiative was done with an objective to promote education in the neighbouring villages and create a healthy environment for the students in the school, the Port said in a release here.

Mr Rao said 'we are committed for the development of our neighbourhood and we will continue to support similar initiatives for creating a stronger society'.
