Govt will lay thrust on creating employment opportunities: Rohan Khaunte

Panaji, Jun 14 (UNI) Goa Minister for Labour and Employment Rohan Khaunte on Friday said government will lay thrust on creating new employment opportunities to provide gainful employment to youth in the state.
Speaking as chief guest at an industry interaction programme on state industrial policy, organised by Office of the Commissioner Labour and Employment in the city, Mr Khaunte said holding interaction with chief executive officers and HRs of 28 private companies would help share knowledge and idea and also to gain valuable information as regard to the manpower requirement of industries and also the employment provided by them to the local youth. This would also help to prepare state employment policy in right perspective, he added.
The Labour Minister informed that 30 per cent government employees were involved in running side business, which he said, was not a healthy sign and that he would write a letter to Chief Minister to set up special task force to inquire into it.
