Govt to review cases of Tanti-Tatwa students after Supreme Court scrapped SC category to them : Chaudhary

Patna, Feb 9 (UNI) The Bihar Government on Monday assured the state Assembly that it would review cases of Tanti-Tatwa students who were ousted from educational institutions after the Supreme Court scrapped the Scheduled Castes (SC) status accorded to them by the state.
Bihar Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary while replying to a call attention notice of IPP MLA Indrajit Prasad Gupta, said that state government was prepared to review the cases of those students from Tanti-Tatwa caste who were ousted from educational institutions including Medical Colleges, Engineering Colleges and Navoday Vidyalayas.
He also assured to look into cases of such candidates who were not being allowed to join services as SC candidates even after they competed in recruitment tests.

Highest haul of contraband, inter-state drugs syndicate busted in Meghalaya

Shillong, March 6 (UNI) In one of the highest drug hauls in Meghalaya, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) on Friday seized heroin and methamphetamine valued at approximately Rs. 51 crore in the drugs market
The ANTF of the Meghalaya police also busted an inter-state drugs syndicate by apprehending a 34-year-old man from Mizoram and 42-year-old woman from Manipur’s Moreh area on the India-Myanmar border involved in ferrying the narcotics.
