Govt taking steps to fill up vacant posts: CM

Puducherry, July 18 (UNI) The Puducherry administration is taking steps to fill up all the 7,600 vacant posts in different departments of the territorial administration, chief minister V Narayanasmay told the legislative assembly late on Wednesday night.
Winding up the discussion on demand for granting various departments including police the chief minister said that steps are being taken to keep law and order under control and to some extent it is controlled though not 100 per cent.
Stating that Puducherry police did what Tamil Nadu and Kerala could not and arrested 15 persons in the ATM fraud case for which the police department need to be congratulated. Steps would be taken to modernise the Puducherry police, he said adding that proper training including training to relive stress would be accorded to the police personnel here itself.
