Govt taking all steps to contain dengue: Malladi

Puducherry, Oct 7 (UNI) Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao on Saturday said the administration is taking all steps to contain dengue fever here. Talking to media persons after taking part in a function organised by the youth Congress workers to distribute ‘Nilavembu Kazhayam’ as a resistant to dengue fever, Mr Rao said not only the youth Congress, different political parties and social organisations are providing ‘Nilavembu Kazhayam’ to the people to prevent dengue. He said people are getting affected by different diseases as per the climate changes. Now it is dengue fever and after two months there is a possibility for an outbreak of swine flu, he said, adding that precautionary measures to contain that disease was also taken. He said the administration has provided 50 beds more for dengue patients at the government general hospital here and added that required equipment to treat all diseases are available with the GH. The government had allocated funds to get dengue medicines, he said, adding that all measures taken to contain dengue would function properly in a couple of days. UNI PAB SDR AE 1537
