Lucknow, Nov 14(UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) is gearing up for the Ayodhya Dharam Sabha on November 25 to pressure the Central government into bringing in a legislation for construction of the Ram Temple.
No politicians are being invited in the Dharam Sabha, including Shiv Sena chief Udhav Thakre, who is expected to be in Ayodhya on the same day.
VHP international vice-president Champat Rai, along with other senior VHP functionaries, held a press conference here on Wednesday to give the details of the proposed Dharam Sabha to be held at Ayodhya and simultaneously in Nagpur and Bangalore on the same day.
"We welcome any move by any individual or group to solve the Ayodhya issue so that the construction of Ram Temple starts," he said, while commenting on the recent move by Sri Sri Ravishanker and some Muslims in Ayodhya.
"The act of the Supreme Court in delaying the hearing on the Ayodhya issue is unfortunate and it has ignored the demand of the 125 crore people of the country," he said while demanding that the government should immediately bring in a legislation for the Ram temple.
"The SC has already taken six-and-a half year just to open the Ayodhya case, which is very unfortunate," the VHP leader commented.
Refusing to comment on the Narendra Modi government, the VHP leader only blamed Congress leader and senior lawyer Kapil Sibal and lawyer Rajiv Dhawan for being instrumental in delaying the hearing in the apex court.
"We want early ways to construct the Ram temple and hence called these Dharm Sabhas of the saints and common people to take a decision on the future strategy," he said. He reiterated that a Dharm Sabha will be held in New Delhi on December 9 and discussion on the same will be carried out in every district of the country on Gita Jayanti on December 18 when a three-hour prayer would be held at the selected 3000 blocks and tehsils.
Mr Rai also said that the Dharam Sabha is exclusively of the saints and VHP leaders and no politicians have been invited where around one lakh people in the radius of 150 kilometers of Ayodhya will participate. The Dharam Sabha will be held at Baade Bhaktmal ground on the Parikarma marg.
