Govt seeks Centre’s assistance in declaring Mughal Gardens World Heritage Sites

Srinagar, Oct 19 (UNI) The Governor’s Administration in Jammu and Kashmir has sought central government assistance to project Mughal gardens in the summer capital, Srinagar, as World Heritage sites.
“The matter was discussed during a meeting between Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai and Joint Secretary Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Nirupama Kotru,” an official spokesperson said.
During the meeting, Mr Ganai sought central governments’ assistance in preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) so that the same can be projected before world forum (UNESCO) to declare Mughal gardens including Shalimar, Nishat, Achabal Veerinag, the world heritage sites.
