Chandigarh, Dec 26 (UNI) The Shiromani Akali Dal on Wednesday said that the loan of the landless farmers taken to meet their agricultural requirements need to be waived off, if the Punjab government is keen ensure a debtless progressive rural society.
A meeting of the Schedule Caste (SC) wing of the SAD, chaired by SC wing president Gulzar Singh Ranike, held here today which was attended by former Lok Sabha deputy speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal, Justice (retd) Nirmal Singh and former MP Satwinder Kaur Dhaliwal and others.
“The landless farmers till land for the landlords and take loan to meet farm needs which they find difficult to return in adverse farm conditions.
