Govt ready to provide concessions to industries manufacturing medical equipment: Puducherry CM

Puducherry,Apr 3 (UNI)The Puducherry administration is contemplating to provide concessions to industries manufacturing medical equipment such as ventilators,masks etc which is to be used to tackle Corona Virus Disease (COVID 19) in the union territory,chief minister V Narayanasamy said here Friday evening.
Talking to news persons ,the chief minister said the new industries starting here which will produce the equipment before the end of July will be given concession on government land,30 percent capital subsidy and tax concessions.Concessions would be provided to existing industrial units in the field,he added.
He said the industrial units here affected in the lock down ured the government to allow them to pay their power tariff for March,April and May in installments .They also need to pay 85 percent of the power tariff during the non-functioning period and since this is because of the lock down,they sought concessions.Their demand was discussed in a meeting he presided in which Power minister,Labour minister and chief secretary among others attended and the government will soon take a decision to which extent concession could be provided to them.
