Govt orders probe into Kangra cooperative bank scam

Shimla, Aug 10 (UNI) Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj on Tuesday said that an inquiry was ordered in the loan frauds worth Rs 39.90 crore reported in Talai Cooperative society of Bilaspur district in 2017.
While replying to a query by Jeet Ram Katwal of BJP, the Minister said the scam was detected in the Talai Gram Sewa Sahkari Samiti during the 2017-18 period.
The audit team of the Cooperative department detected embezzlement of Rs 39.90 cr and during the investigation, it has been found that the secretary of the society Rajesh Patial tried to name the property of society in the name of his children, the Minister said.
