Govt officer arrested on graft charge

Patna, Jul 20 (UNI) Vigilance sleuths caught a government officer red handed when he was accepting bribe of Rs 28,000 from the complaint in Saran district on Saturday.
Sources at the vigilance department said a trap was laid on town executive officer of Nagar Panchayat in Saran district Sandeep Kumar Thakur under the leadership of DSP rank officer Paras Nath Singh when one Sohan Rai lodged a complaint at the department against him. Mr Rai had informed the vigilance department that Mr Thakur was demanding bribe of Rs 30,000 to release the money as the second installment of Prime Minister Awas Yojana.
Vigilance department personnel arrested the government officer when he was accepting the bribe at Parsa block office.
The nabbed officer was being brought to the vigilance department for interrogation and his subsequent production in a vigilance court.
